|Contact:||The Fledgling Fund|
Email: Use the online contact form.
|Description:||The Fledgling Fund supports outreach and engagement for social issue documentary film and other storytelling projects that have the potential to inspire social change around issues that affect the most vulnerable. Fledgling looks for projects that both spotlight problems and offer solutions in areas of interest, such as equality, democracy, environment, economic justice, education, health system reform, human rights, women and girls, and justice reform. The Fledgling Fund awards grants to media projects in one or more of the following: audience engagement planning grants or audience engagement implementation grants.|
Although the Fledgling Fund does not specify age or grade limits, its grantees have gone on to win prestigious awards, including the Oscar and Emmy for outstanding documentaries and programming. Serious students of creative media and viable projects are the Fledgling Fundís focus.
Applicants must submit a description of the project, its social change goals, and plans for moving forward with the project. All projects should have a clear timeline for completion. The fund does not expect applicants to have a fully developed audience engagement strategy. Grants are not available to support production or post-production.
