Description:VentureWell offers college students the chance to develop new tech ideas. The E-Team Program offers funding, experiential workshops, and coaching for market-based technology inventions. VentureWell defines an E-Team as a dynamic group of students, faculty, and industry mentors working together to bring a technology-based invention (product or service) to a market. The program enhances the opportunity to move ideas out of the lab and classroom and into the marketplace by providing expert entrepreneurial and venture coaching, experiential workshops, and a potential investment opportunity to help realize the commercial success of technology inventions and innovations. Projects that clearly demonstrate an idea’s technical feasibility, social value, and potential for commercialization will be the most competitive.

The E-Team program has three stages:
• Stage 1: recipients receive a grant of $5,000 and are required to participate in a workshop. The grant is designed to cover travel cost related to the workshop. The workshop focuses on market validation and discovery. Teams learn how to describe markets, articulate the value if their innovation, and define a competitive position.
• Stage 2: recipients receive a grant up to $20,000 and are required to attend a second workshop. The second workshop is designed to teach teams how to develop and validate a business model. Teams receive coaching towards successful validation of a business model. The workshop consists of six sessions.
• Stage 3: recipients receive a grant of $50,000 and the program focuses on providing peer mentoring and feedback to the teams. The teams compete for investment from VentureWell for their product.

Eligible applicants are US college or university student-led teams. Teams must be part of a VentureWell member institution. Proposals that include students and advisors from disciplines such as engineering, science, business, design and liberal arts are encouraged.
