|Description:||The Sol Hirsch Education Fund Grants are awarded annually to teachers in kindergarten through grade 12 to support educational activities to improve teaching and learning of the science of meteorology. Grant funds may be used to purchase materials or equipment for a classroom-, school-, or community-based learning program; to begin a new science outreach and education program; to enhance or expand an existing meteorology education program; or to attend accredited courses, workshops, or conferences related to meteorology that will significantly enhance teaching activities.|
In general, grants are awarded to applicants that can demonstrate the greatest need for funding, describe programs that will have the most significant and widest impact, provide the most detailed information on how the grant money will be spent, and are most likely to succeed with their proposals.
