Description:VentureWell offers college students the chance to develop new tech ideas. The E-Team Program offers funding, experiential workshops, and coaching for market-based technology inventions. VentureWell defines an E-Team as a multidisciplinary group of students, faculty, and industry mentors working together to bring a technology-based invention (product or service) to a market. Projects that clearly demonstrate an idea’s technical feasibility, social value, and potential for commercialization will be the most competitive.

The E-Team program has three stages:
• Stage One: recipients receive a small grant and are required to participate in a workshop on how to better articulate the opportunity for innovation in the marketplace. The grant is designed to cover travel cost related to the workshop. Remaining funds may be used to support further development of the project or product.
• Stage Two: recipients receive a large grant and are required to attend a second workshop. The second workshop is designed to teach teams how to develop and validate a business model. Teams then receive monthly coaching sessions to help them move forward.
• Stage Three: the program focuses on developing a venture development plan to prepare for relationships with investors and strategic partners.

Eligible applicants are US college or university student-led teams. At least on team member must be part of a VentureWell member institution. Proposals that include students and advisors from disciplines such as engineering, science, business, design, and liberal arts are encouraged. Applications must be submitted online.
