Description:Silicon Valley Creates works to promote investment and engagement in arts and creativity in the Silicon Valley region of California. Grants are available to teachers of prekindergarten through grade 12 in Santa Clara County schools to support arts education programs presented by specific arts companies. These include visual art, music, dance, theater, storytelling, literary arts, film/video, and multidisciplinary programs. Grant funds are administered through the Silicon Valley Education Foundation.

Interested teachers should use the search directory for information on available arts education programs sponsored by specific companies. (Click the Teacherís page on the website.) Options include identifying programs by artistic discipline; content-area subject; focus culture; type of activity (such as field trip, performance, workshop, camp, professional development); event dates; and grade level.

Grants may be used to help pay for a field trip and admission fees, transportation costs, artist fees, materials and supplies, or other related expenses. Individual teachers or a team of teachers may apply.

The application form is accessed from the grants web page and must be completed and submitted online. Teachers can expect a response within two weeks of submitting a grant request.
